.

The Boll Weevils MC kicks off the evening's main event

Meanwhile, EVERYONE gets the Boll Weevils yellow "stamp of approval"

.

Part of the fun was in NOT knowing what might happen next, seated at tables of Boll-Weevil yellow & green with centerpiece of cotton bolls

Ennead 2000 Queen Blanche Hall, with Carnival 2000 King Peyton Self, PTAH's Beth Almond, and current Ennead Queen Betty Reschenberg

.

PTAH Queen Donna Gilpatrick with Ptolemy's Ken Hall as PTAH Princess Cindy Schneider takes in the excitement

After a hard day of acting as MC for the PTAH Queens Luncheon, Nyoka (with husband Ben) Beer), shares her "crystal visions" for the future

.

. . . . Those visions apparently include a stint as Santa Clause for Nyoka Beer as PTAH Princess Cindy Schneider looks on in amazement

.

PTAH's Russ Gilpatrick confers with Ramet's 2000 Queen Sue Schutt as RaMet's 2000 King Mack Jepsen watches in profile

Carnival 2000 King Peyton Self shares valuable insights from last year with current King Mike Starnes  (far right)  as Carnival Memphis President Glen Cofield and Mike's date listen in

.

And the Ale and Cotton flowed freely as Boll Weevils leeringly stand watch from the balcony

.

Leaving yellow stickers in their wake, one of the Boll Weevils tags Ptolemy Queen Stephanie Hughes with Chairman Mike Parker

RaMet Chairman's wife Shirley Tilton and the Ladies Brigade assist with check-in and help sell "Bo-Weev" paraphernalia - -

.

B.J. Gullet, the Boll Weevil's "Evil Eminence", dances with pretty Betty Reschenberg, Queen of Ennead

Memphi Queen Susan Arney appears unfazed as her Boll Weevil friend is blinded by the light

.

Excitement builds as the crowd waits expectantly - - the Weevils always know how to put on a good show

.

Runnel & Charles Brindell, parents of Carnival Memphis Queen Jennifer, take to the dance floor

Finally, the ceremonies begin:  And Honorees are brought to the Boll Weevil stage

.

Well, actually . . . some are Honored and some are humiliated - - - but everyone has a great time as seen in the following series of pictures.

.

Carnival Memphis President Glen Cofield with Executive Vice President Peg Ross

And now, what we've all been waiting for . . . the traditional irreverent Boll Weevil skit

.

Kicking things off, the hosts begin to act obnoxiously, as Boll Weevils are wanton to do . . . However a poised Carnival Queen Jenny Brindell handles it all with grace and style

.

Parents of Carnival Queen Jenny, Ronell and Charles Brindell, laughingly watch from the sidelines with Carnival Memphis President Glen Cofield

That's All, Folks!   Boll Weevil's Chairman B.J. Gullett and friends proved to be excellent hosts for the evening - and thankfully the cotton crop was saved for one more year
